Breaking down robot vacuum cleaners

Robot vacuum cleaners have come a long way from the days of the earliest models, but we’re not quite to the point at which we are all able to purchase our very own “Rosie the Robot” from The Jetsons – at least not yet, anyway!

But believe it or not, we are probably closer to that reality than anything else, it may not be all that far in the future that we are able to go down to the store and purchase our very own Rosie.

Wouldn’t that be exciting?!

What exactly is a robot vacuum cleaner?

These amazing pieces of technology are exactly what they sound like – a vacuum cleaner that is completely and totally self-controlled and “self-aware”, capable of cruising across your floors and taking care of all the vacuuming for you (without you ever having to lift a single finger of your own).

Thanks to some pretty intelligent hardware solutions and an impressive software design, these robots can be programmed to run all on their own, clean all on their own, and even maintain themselves (depending upon the model that is purchased).

How does a robot vacuum cleaner work?

There are a number of different robot vacuum cleaner options available on the market today, but most of them all work off of the same core principles.

A robot vacuum cleaner will have to be charged up (they almost always run off of battery power and not a wired electrical source) and then powered on – and from there it’s as close to set it and forget it as you’re going to get.

These solutions have built-in sensors that allow them to detect when they have come into contact with walls or other solids on the floor surface, which causes them to bump, rotate 90°, and then continue to vacuum in that direction until they bump into something else.

The process rinses and repeats over and over again until the entire floor surface is covered – again without you ever having to lift a single finger of your own!

Are robot vacuum cleaner options worth investing in today?

With somebody different robot vacuum cleaner options available on the market today, it’s almost impossible not to recommend purchasing one of these advanced pieces of equipment. You’ll obviously want to make sure that you are buying a quality set up, but that’s rather simple and straightforward thanks to the high caliber of solutions out there right now.
